Stuart Gordon's "Reanimator". An adapted HP Lovecraft story. His second was "From Beyond" Both are quite good.... 8) Mike

Never seen Christopher Walken in a bad film. I think that guy really picks his scripts. Just like DeNiro used to. Will have to look out for that one.

Cherokee I saw reanimator, I've never seen from beyond though. Love that lovecraft stuff. He's not the huge author over here he is round your way. Consequently I didnt get to read anything of his till I was 28. Man what a spooky writer. You dont read anything that scary, that you can put your finger on, but some fear kind of nags at your subconsious. Even at 28 I found myself constantly checking the doors and windows were bolted before going to sleep after reading the dulwich horror.

+1 sci-fi/horror classic.

The Deer Hunter with both of 'em was a great one, not so much horror, but some really spine chilling moments like when they were trapped in the Vietnam water cages and the Russian roulette parts!

This is a GREAT movie. But you need to really stay with the story ... to fully appreciate the impact of the great and thoughtful intelligent ending.
This movie is better each time you see it.

Heres another one from the archives: Have any of you ever seen The Entity? Very good supposedly true story, and extremely scary. I think it came out in the 1980's.

Heres a link to the trailer:

I love Vampire and Werewolf movies, but their not very scary. To me the scariest movies or the ones that could be true:

Cape Fear
The Strangers
Vacancy
The Hitcher

My favorites are the ones that show how demented real people could actually be...

Which version of Cape Fear did you like best?

I never could decide since Peck/Mitchum and Nolte/De Nero each played the roles in a way that worked. One of the few cases I've ever seen where an original and a remake are both good and without either materially changing the root story.

This one is an older one, but still gets you with suspense:

I watched a boster lastnight. Another 'the ring' type japanese subtitled draw you in, called 'the eye'. Blind girl gets a cornea transplant and starts seeing stuff. Kind of like the 6th sense but with good acting.

Theres been a remake. WTF didnt hollywood learn that they just cant make these films after 'the ring' and 'the grudge'. :?

Somethings are better left untouched.
