Hello. My name is urby. I also go by urbs or just urb. It is a nickname based on my last name.

I've been a big fan of Fender instruments for almost forty years. My first rig was a '70 Strat played through a '66 Super Reverb! It wasn't just my first rig but the only rig I played for over 20 years.

When the Fender Custom Shop opened up I started playing some of their instruments; a CS Donahue Tele and '54 Strat Reissue being the first. Now, about 15 years later, I have settled with a Nocaster, Masterbuilt 1954 Strat, a John Page era Tele Custom and I just recently picked up a Wildwood 10 '65 Strat Relic. Awesome!

I also enjoy Fender amps and use a Tweed Twin and a heavily modified Custom Vibrolux Reissue.

So, that's a (very) little bit about myself. I know I'll learn a lot about Fender instruments and music here. Thanks for having me.

Yo, urbs. Welcome to the forum, pal. You started with some great equipment and you have taken it to the next level. Wow. :)

I love the Super Reverb. Did you ever see one with the stock orange JBL speakers? I wanted one of those so bad!

I have had a ton of equipment, beacuse I played for years in bar bands. I played a Travis Bean Artist for years and had numerous Gibsons. I am a strat hardtail player now.

...Anyway welcome again. There are some very informed folks here and I hope you have fun.

Thanks for the welcome, StratoBob. No, I never saw a SR with orange JBL's! Sounds like a rare bird and kinda cool. Did those JBL's add some headroom?

The Fender amps with stock JBL's are rare, but they do show up on ebay. They made a Twin with JBL's and maybe a few more models as well. The amps have loads of headroom, so you can get very clear chords at high volumes and lots of sparkle out of a strat. Jimi Hendrix used lots of JBL's. When you start with a clean sound, you can take it anywhere with a overdrive channel, master volume, pedals, etc. I never see a "clean" or "Headroom" pedals, so I guess it must be harder to clean up less articulate speakers. :)

Hey Tony! Good to see you here, man.

Stratobob, I knew about the Twin with JBL's but not the Super Reverb. Cool info! Just the stuff I wanted to learn about by joining this forum.

Thanks for the welcomes, everyone. Pics? It's going to be a rainy weekend here where I live. I'll see what I can do for you. I love looking at what other people have, too, so I completely understand.

How could I have forgotten! I also have a '62 American Reissue P-bass that gets a lot of studio PT.

All of my Fender electrics are two or three color sunburst, except for the Nocaster
