I was wondering what case to get for my Fender Squier. I could use some expert, unbiased opinions because I don't want to make a bad decision. There's three I'm bouncing around to get. Only the Coffin Case doesn't come with free shipping no matter what site I go to. The other two I can find free shipping. I'm a bit strapped for cash right now so I'm looking for a good deal as well as 'bang for my buck.'

I'll give links to each option. I'm not endorsing any store. I just want to post links to show what it looks like.

Thank you very much.

I'm no expert by any means, but I do like the look of the coffin case the best. I've got a postal monkey case myself and love the look of any cases they sell.

Depends on which one you like the best. I used to have a Coffin Case when I had my BC Rich Warlock. Nice case, stunk when I first got it. Throw a frabric softener in if you get it. Also invest in a bottle of Frabreeze. The smell does eventually go away.

The MF case is ok and offers more protection than the soft shell case. I cannot stand SHC's, they just do not offer much protection.

Check out this case...it's little pricey, but you could accidently drive over it with your car and the guitar would most likely survive the encounter:

I heard a lot of the cases do 'smell.' I live with Febreeze so no problem using that.

I think there's a site that has a promo for free shipping until Saturday for the coffin case. Geez. Sucks not to have money. Bite the bullet? Hmmmm.

Check your local craigslist ads under musical...I've seen several slightly used black Fender tolex cases for around $50.

In the price range you seem to be looking at you may want to try this Gator.

careful with the coffin case. They look really cool but they're not that durable and the top and bottom get misaligned pretty easily.

I use hard Fender cases for my Squiers but they're a bit pricey because of the "F" word being on them.

i have the white coffin case and i had to mod it a little to make my jaguar hh special fit perfect but it is worth it. only had to slightly trim the center storage compartment. I always thought the old school tweed straight cases looked very cool.

I too heard coffin case's can be weak. No firsthand experience, but my friend who told me, got rid of his quickly.

You wont go far wrong with Gator or Mike's suggestion of looking for a 2ndhand fender case. Personaly myself if money is short look at the fender padded gig bag. I'm very impressed with the one I got with my telecaster.

I use soft cases, both for electrics and acoustics. I'm very happy with them so I'm rather biased towards the polyfoam case. Plus it has the shoulder straps which for me are a definite plus.

I have a Musicians Gear Deluxe and am very happy with it. I am considering a new fender and that will be its home if I make the purchase. I find it to be very durable and it is roomy. I bought mine for 39.99 on sale. If the case is only going to provide protection in the closet you might be able to get a slightly dinged one on ebay or somewhere .

Okay, I made my choice.

I went with the coffin case.

I found another gig bag I had with lots of padding so didn't want to get another one.

The site I went to had free shipping and I could get a rebate from my credit card.

Then, no sales tax. Wheeeeeee.

Also, I'm an artist and I want to decorate the holy hell out of it.

Maybe not the most practical thing, but I'm not really going to take the guitar out per se. I'm using it more as a decorative piece or if I do travel with it, it'll be a conversation piece. It was more than the musician's friend hard case, but I can do more artistic things with this one. Again, not practical, but hey, when I get it into my head to be creative, I go for it.

This was a podium that I decorated with acrylics, so want to do something like this (not Twilight per se) with my case:
