Anytime I see a member of our Armed Forces I am always sure to stop him and thank him for the sacrifice he is making for our freedom and this country. You'd be surprised how many of these men and women tell me thank you and indicate how few times they have actually had someone stop them in the street or elsewhere to tell them that. They along with our Police, Fire and EMS are the true heroes in this country.

This is a good thread SBLS and a very touching opening post. I am a Brit and I would also like to thank the armed forces of the US and the UK for their sacrifice.
I have just heard on the news that more UK troops are being sent to Afghanistan.
Will it ever end?

WOW! Very touching and hits home hard.

My son Brandon is in the U.S. Army and just returned from a tour of duty in Bagdad, Iraq.
My son Christopher is in the U.S. Air Force and just got his orders and will be deployed (for the 3rd time) in January.

I for one (I'm sure many of you feel the same way) wish they would end this foolishness and bring all of our troops home. Humans should not be killing Humans, it's just not right.
Until they do I will pray for the safe return of all of our troops. I Thank the ones who have served and returned and the Families of those who have lost theirs lives. I also Thank those that will serve and pray they return safely.

Chet, how are your sons? Forgive me for not remembering until I saw this thread again.

Wow! Thank you SBLS! A very touching vid - I had tears in my eyes.

I agree with Chet...we've got to stop this nonsense - humans killing humans! Bring them home. Bring them ALL home. We have so many better things to do with our lives - so much love to give.

I send all the armed forces of the planet my respect, my thanks, and my wish for them all to return to their homes and families.

Peace,
Gridlok

That's a great video a fitting tribute. All military from all countries that are putting their lives on the line to keep this world free from the control of evil meglomaniacal despots and other threats to freedom should be stopped and thanked when you meet them.As a reminder for everyone to see I have a 2" Celtic Cross and the words"Lest We Forget"tattooed on my left forearm for all to see how much I appreciate those who have laid down their lives in the name of freedom.

I agree guitslinger. I would like to see the tattoo some time Bro, very cool. Practically everyone that I know has a family member who has served our country and when I saw this thread again it made me think about just that, about how many American men and women sacrifice their time, efforts, energy, themselves for the love of this country and freedom.
