I play professionally every day, but I don't play in front of people (studio work only). Does that count?

I would lile to get together with some musicians and jam. I have been out of the music scene in my area for a number of years and I am now getting back into it. I need to get better at guitar before I feel comfortable playing in front or with people.

Well, just to elaborate, I used to "gig." Between 1970 and 1978 I played over 2,000 nights, either in a band or as a solo. If I never drag my butt in front of a crowd of drunks at 11 PM again, it will be too soon. :D

Gigging is nothing more than working. I really don't think a crowd has anything to do with it. I made a half decent living at it in the mid 70's and 80's. Now I have other commitments and just play out occasionally in bars and some studio work now and again. I was a backup musician at festivals for a while, that was fun. Sometimes I miss it. As long as I'm playing, I'm happy.

Used to gig on regular basis with two differnet bands over about a 4-5 year span. Had a chance to get into the studio with one of them and cut a single. I really do miss it. Looking to get back into it sooner rather then later. No more hard rock/alternative, just wanna get out into the blues scene. Would love to do it professionally, but I'm not holding my breath. I just took too much time off and have really lapsed in the skill department. But know I m back to playing hours every day you never know.

I wouldn't call it a gig. My band plays shows. We've got two this weekend. We do get paid a little though, so maybe it is a gig.
