Anyone seen this DVD series? I watched vol 1 last night and it was amazing. I'm relatively new to the blues and can't play any of it, but I love it. Got volume 2 coming and cant wait to see it.

Anyone else seen this series? If not check it out!

volume one was like a 2 hour education for a blues newbie like myself. I really liked all the old school guys and when they went to Africa. Great viewing for sure.

I am now knee deep into Ronnie Earl and the Broadcasters (a newly discovered blues artist for me). If you want to listen to a true master, pick up the album Hope Radio or Live in Europe. I guarantee both for your blues listening pleasure.

It is an excellent series. I have seen the whole thing several times.

They also put out a bunch of CD's that are worth checking out too.

Not to hijack the thread, but I can't believe that at 57 years old I'm just discovering the blues. Picked up a blues for begineers cd/book and am enjoying the hell out of it. Grew up listening to everything, except country-western, but primarily soul music. I now see where the heart of soul music has its roots.

I'll have to check out the CD.

A great series. The one you will probably wear out like I did is when they do the English guys and they have Jeff Beck,Van Morrison, Tom Jones and a host of $@!&#* jack players in a room jamming. He goes into Clapton and the 60s scene, and I found it amazing. By far my favorite episode in the series and now I have to dig it out as I have not seen it in a few years.
