Blues thanks for putting that up as I have not seen it since it came out. I would just like to say I am so glad Ed finally cleaned himself up as you can see he has one foot in the grave at the time this was done. I never really played like Ed but he has always been one of my biggest idols. I guess in the way for those who dont know Eds idol was Clapton especially during the Cream years though you could never tell. I was really pissed when he was a no show for the R&R Hall of Fame ceremony. When they put out the release that he went into rehab because he would only want to play his best I thought it was bullsh!t. But when I saw the youtube clip of him at the 07 NAMM show I said thank God as he was a total mess and ripped out of his mind that he could not even play he was so loaded. I remember reading him saying his father gave him his first drink and pack of smokes at 11 and we can all see how the bottle made a guy who always looked like a kid age 20 years more than what he is overnight. The only axes I have besides my Fenders are EBMM EVH and Wolfgangs which IMHO have the best neck on any ax, I just love them. If you never played one check out the new ones they are off the chart and made in the Jacksonville custom shop. If my surgery goes well I will deffinetly buy one. But they are pricey at 3K. But I am looking forward to seeing Ed back on the road and making new music as he is one of the greatest and most important players ever.I have known guys who have spent close to 10K back in the day on gear to try to cop the sound of a guitar that was made buy seconds nails and tape.lol The bottom line is you cant buy those chops and I still dont know how the hell he can jump five feet straight up in the air.STAY CLEAN ED AND KEEP ON ROCKIN

But at least Ed has an excuse (and we all know Alex wouldn't go w/o Ed). But where the crap was Dave?? What was his excuse? Some thin veil that Velvet Revolver couldn't back him on "Jump" because they don't have a keyboard player? Huh???

Hey NP. I grew up listening to VH. The first time I heard Eruption blew me away. I was in Jr. High when the first VH album came out and no one from the that time played guitar like Eddie. From that point on, guitar playing as changed to a different path indeed.

O1GT I think Dave Felt that Sammy and Mike were together and might have felt uncomfortable alone. I cant really say but Velvet Revolvers rendition on Aint Talkin Bout Love was just dreadful. I mean that is the one Vanhalen song people can play that includes the solo and I hate to knock Slash at all because that is not his style at all and I love him as a guitarist, but he was in 5th position for the riff and it just did not sound right and the vocals were almost comical. I just wish Ed was there to tear it up but they did the totally right move. Because if he was in the same condition as NAMM 07 it would of been a disaster. I have to say he cleaned up nice and looks good. Look on youtube for the 7 part radio interview he does over the phone with some dic jockey from nack in the day. Really interesting as he talks about Randy Rhoades death and a lot of interesting stuff while playing his guitar over the phone in a hotel room. I swear the guy never has an ax out of his hands. There is also a cool video with him and the guys from Fender talking about the new Wolfgang.
