A Dad buys his son a bass, so he can learn to play.
The store throws in four free lessons with the purchase.

After the first lesson the kid goes home, and his dad asks him what he learned.
The son replies, "I learned the first 5 frets on the E string."

The next week he comes home from the lesson to the same question and replies, "Today, I learned the first 5 frets on the A string."

The third week he comes home late, smelling of beer & smoke.
The dad says, suspiciously, "How did your lesson go today?"

The son replies, "Oh, Dad, I had to skip my lesson, I had a gig."
