I've been teaching my son guitar( and banjo :) ) and now he is joining Strings in school. Was hoping he would have gone with the bass but he picked violin. Oh well. I figure he will learn alot of music theory and that will help him be better at whatever instrument(s) he decides on.

Good luck. It is quite a bit harder than guitar. I hope you stick with it. I bet it will help your guitar playing in a huge way.
