I love mine too, fitted it with Tung-Sol tubes and a Sica/Jensen
replacement speaker. I paid € 169,- for my Champion 600.

With the new tubes and speaker there was less hum and noise.
More clean headroom and a tighter and better bass response.
I think good tubes are especially important.
Overall it sounded better to my ears.

I too am a big believer in hanging onto tubes that work "just in case". I'll definately try a tube upgrade then explore changing out the speaker. It's a real fun little amp for when the big one is just too much.
