Great tone, smooth player, very nice.

my father in-law lived with us for about a year and a half. when he decided to move out, he walked into my living room and handed me his MIM telecaster and said "you want this? it's too heavy... and i never play it." i gladly took it off his hands. the next day he walked in again with a fender automatic amp and said "might as well take this too. now that you have the electric guitar, i have nothing to plug into it."
i said "thank you very much."
i've been thanking him every time i've seen him since.

the only other fender find was this forum shortly thereafter.

My friend bought a 1965 Fender Strat at a yard sale for $150 bucks because the old man selling it bought it back in the 70's and never played it. It was pretty much flawless.

my dad wouldn't have recognized the difference between a les paul and a toaster... at least you have an opportunity to say, "hey dad, next time..."
at least you have a story to tell ;)
