I live in the midwest, Eastern Iowa. There is never any used Fender gear in the daily newspapers, and on craigslist for my area, there is little to none either. The occational Twin reverb re-issue (a lot of those) and a few of MIM Strats and Teles. The going price for a used Twin Reverb re-issue is $700 to $900, and the MIM guitars are $150 to $350. The guys with the vintage stuff know what they have and want a fortune for it, no matter what shape it's in. I'm looking for a used Nashville Tele MIA, but have never found one. Even the local Guitar Center doesn't carry one. Whats the used market like in your area?

Hello Masterhacker,

Prices are about the same out here in southeast Pa.
Nashville's, haven't seen a used one live, I suppose
folks are happy with what they have purchased. I
have seen some turn up on ebay.

On a side note I was out in Davenport/McClellanville
area about 15 years back, nice place I really enjoyed
the "loose meat"sandwiches".

Cheers.

In Norfolk/VA Beach VA it's a pretty vibrant market. Especially vintage, I guess part of the whole surf culture thing. But prices can get crazy. I've seen a huge variety. Including a really cool Strat with Marilyn Monroe on it and Playboy inlays, but they wanted $12,000 for it @_@

In my area there is always an abundance of Strats and Tele's, but the people are selling them at sentimental value prices meaning they want top dollar for their junk/used guitar.

There are quite a few offerings each week here in Vegas. The problem is, most of them are tweakers that think they have gold when in fact they don't.

Well I live in NY and there is pretty much whatever you want yet I still buy 90% of my gear on ebay. Have you checked out ebay for what you want, just punh in fender telecaster nashville and click on where it says items and descriptions as this will show more listings and you will find what you want in a week. There is a nice US Bbender model on now a bit pricey so just wait.

I am in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and there is a lot of Fender stuff on Craigslist. Not a lot of Twins, but I see a few around $700. You could find an American Strat at $650. The real bargins to me are the DeVilles for around $450.

Stuff to be found here, but prices are nuts.
People seem to want more than top dollar for not so good condition stuff.

I went to look at a twin reverb, it was "well worn" on the outside and it looks like mice had been living inside and chewing up things in the case. They were still asking almost full retail and not wanting to budge.

Everyone is on the web now and I suspect must quickly google up a price on some mint equipment, then want that for their old junk. :(

Days of the yard sale find are few and far between anymore.

I went to look at a USA Strat relic and got there only to find out it was a Japanese neck, korean body and the guy wanted $850. People wanting top dollar for Squiers ($200 for an affinity used) and selling things for the sentimental value

Fender guitars are like Skeeters on a Pond, they are everywhere.
There are almost 3000 Fender guitars for sale on Ebay and 1800 Gibbys and 400 PRS. Every little kid who wants a guitar gets Mom and Dad to buy them a Strat. Then how many continue to play and how many end up for sale. Mom and Dad are not spending a 1000.00 for a Gibson and to them who is PRS so its MIM Fender or Squier.
Plus I have found that more older players buy LP's, be it any brand Epi Gibby what ever and they don't end up being being sold used.

I’m located in North Carolina (right outside FT Bragg Army base) 85,000 active duty army personnel and 7,000 active duty Air Force….Fayetteville has more Pawn shops in town than I have ever see anywhere else . you would not believe what solders pawn to pay bills or for cash to go party… the used instrument market in my area is overflowing. There is a big demand but a bigger supply so prices stay down fairly low. The items that are priced too high ten to stay on the shelf for a long time and become very negotiable after a few months of costing the shop money and space ….of late it has become a great way to spend a weekend by hitting pawn shops looking for a great find. picked up a Marshall Plexi full stack a few years back for 400 bucks....sold if a year later for 18,00 bucks but still regret gettin rid of it, but did not need 100 watts of stack for bedroom playing at the time...

Here in Massachusetts, there are quite a few used Strats and Teles... But they want every dime! You can't buy a MIM for under $300 and even Squires are going for around $200... Around here it just doesn't make sense to buy used. I saw a used Highway 1 Telecaster on Craigslist selling for $650. It's crazy!

Used market pretty descent in the Pittsburgh Area, at least at mah local stores. Most of the stuff that's good gets sold fast so I don't get to see it to often, but I remember seein a vintage 64 jazz bass for $7000 and a MIM Fender for 250 I believe. I bought my 1957 AVRI used for $1200 mint condition, owned by an old dentist who wanted to learn guitar but never had the time, couldn't pass that up ^^.
