Ok it's Fall and every place I've ever lived puts together a Blues Festival this time of year. Last night I took a date to our local blues festival in little Rock Hill SC and was impressed by the artists they showcased. In fact I was humbled. I guess its a good thing because Willie "Bluesman" Roach had a 60+ year old grey haired guitarist that ripped his Fiesta Red naturally reliced Strat up one side and down the other. Gave me hope for my not too distant future... Nikininja you would have like that guitar.
Went to another venue and met Robin Rogers a local (Charlotte NC) blues diva with an awesome voice and a really great band. She had the restaraunt rockin and the food was good too.
Last stop was a Sax player named Carl Ratliff more smooth jazz than blues but an accomplished and soulful player with an awsome band. There were more venues and more players but I couldn't get to them all in one night. Has anyone else been to a local festival lately and enjoyed it as much as I did?
