What's the most embarassing thing that's happened to you in front of other people?

In my world history class today I gave a powerpoint presentation on ancient roman civilization. I was using one of the school's computers hooked up to a projector. Being that our school has no real internet firewall or popup blocker, I had a really (and I mean really) obscene pornographic image pop up during my presentation.

thats hilariouse but nasty at the same time! at my high school we have the computers heavily protected. how did the class/teacher react when that happened!? but ive never really had an embarissing moment exept when i farted in the second grade really loud in front of the wholce class. lol!

I screwed up the ending of Texas Flood... At Antone's... In front of people who knew Stevie... Not just met him, but knew him... I played the ending of Hide Away, which is in E, Texas Flood is in G... I still haven't gotten over it.

Musical ones: I've fallen backwards over a monitor landing flat on my back. Tried to play on as if nothing had happened but was so winded it really wasn't doing. Nobody was sympathetic - much laughter.

I attempted a Pete Townshend windmill and tore the tip off my selector switch, which went flying off and hit the bass player. The way I often tell it that tip caught him clean on the nose - but I may be over glamorising that bit...

As a drummer, back in the early days at the end of the set I used to step up on the bass drum and jump over the kit, Keith Moon style. That went wrong more than once, in obvious ways.

'Course, I ain't gonna tell you the really embarrassing stuff...

Anyone else get the feeling our Ceri is a Who fan? This could be a classic thread, not that I'm gonna contribute Image

Could be, could be... :D

Anyone who remembers The Who in the '70s or has seen The Kids Are Alright movie knows how Townshend used to take that huge leap near the end of Won't Get Fooled Again, landing on his knees and sliding the width of the stage.

John Entwhistle told of an embarrassing moment one night when in mid-air Pete realised he'd forgotten to put on the skateboard knee pads he wore under his trousers to make that stunt do-able. John said he had an "OH F***!!!" expression on his face, before landing on his knees with no protection - and apparently didn't get up again quite so fast on that occasion...

Played the ---- reading festival in Tufnel Park a couple of years back. It was quite the social occasion, lots of people I hadnt seen for years were going to be there. So I got their early. Big spread laid on backstage, and crate after crate after crate of Image.

The promoter and friend told the lady incharge of fuel distribution,"dont let that (wont mention their name) have any more beer, they've drank theirs". Foolish and bored awaiting for my band to arrive I think, "I'm not being out drank by them" and start lashing into belgiums chemical finest. This was around 1pm. Around 10:30 we go on, much the worse for wear. Always opened the set with a cacophony of noise based around a sliding open E. I tried to windmill the first hit, completely missed the guitar, lost my balance fell face first onto the stage floor, broke my nose, got up said 'Can we try that again lads?". Had to play the set with blood pouring from my face. Still It sobered me up, looked great at a punk gig and we played well. I stuck to the 2 pint pre-set limit after that till my last gig. That tales not for this forum though.

That's outrageous, Nikki! How old were you when you did that one? Too bad it wasn't on film, although I'm sure you can (and have) replayed it in Technicolor many times.

Ouch!

That was lastweek, nah six or seven years ago, I was 30.

Celtic the band were and still are apocalypse babys. Nothing big or mega (but we had lots of fun) the ---- before reading should have read $%^&.

Ceri theres nothing more embarrasing than my last gig with them. I just cant mention it here. I just dont have the vocabulary to get it past the censor program.

I've had many, but the one that comes to mind right now is playing the hell out of the solo to Toto's Hold the Line, one of my favorite solos ever. That time, I had a bad monitor, couldn't hear myself, and played it a fret lower - the whole solo (forgot we changed keys for the singer). I hear that recording and it makes me want to jam crochet needles in both ears. Funny thing, there were drunk guys that still told me I rocked it out :)

At a New Year's gig two years ago, we had a wedding party walk into our gig around midnight.

So I went to the mic and announced that the first slow song of '08 would be the bride dancing with her father......it was the groom, not her dad.

She looked pissed, he looked pissed, the whole band looked at me like an alien life form and than we changed tactics from a slow song to a fast one.

Talk about foot in mouth, that is the worst one I've ever done.
