Trying to decide between the two of these...anyone have any experiences with either?

I'm leaning towards the 57's because they have the best reviews that I have read and heard from actual, but I haven't played with them yet only the Burstbucker 3 and 1. Let me know if you have any feedback. thanks in advance.

I have the 57's on my Epiphoine Les Paul Custom and I love them.

They have a really warm "rounded" clean sound but when you crank up the gain you get that classic overdrive which sounds fantastic.

I would certainly recommend them to anyone looking for that sort of thing. They also do high gain stuff really well, although I don't really play much of that sort of music.

What guitar are you thinking of putting them on?

I have Burstbucker V's on my LP and the 57s on my SG and I prefer the sound of the 57s. (But it might be because I like the SG better!) They're a little smoother than the BB's which sound a bit "edgier" I would think the 57 are better for classic rock.

Burstbuckers are certainly great pickups. But I love the Gibson ceramic 496R/500T set in my Gibson SG.

Suh-weet tone.

I had 57 Classic/Classic+ pickups on my Epi LP and they were really nice sounding, very classic rock. Michael also 57s on his CS-336. I also think they sound better. I have an LP coming next week with Burstbuckers; this will be my first experience with them.

I have the Burstbucker Pro pickups in my Epi Les Paul Custom Flametop and I like them alot. Probably a little edgier than the others, but great sustain, and they are hard to beat when paired with a Marshall amp.

putting them in my Agile Al-2000. once I upgrade the pickups the thing is going to be a beast because stock it is already near perfect. thanks for the feedback, I've decided on the 57's. I need something a little less "edgy" than the burstbuckers and i played a LP last night with the 57's and they sounded perfect.

Hello Dbr2026,

Burstbuckers have a more modern sound.
Classics as the name suggests more vintage sound.

Very nice Agile, is that a wide neck?

Best of luck with your choice.

Cheers.

I have a Burstbucker 3 in the bridge position of my Les Paul. It's very powerful, and it has a more modern sound. I like it, but I don't think I'd put one in the neck position. I have a P-90 in the neck and it's a good mix.

If wax potting is a factor in your decision, the Burstbucker Pros are wax potted.
