Nope - you are just developing good taste and a preference for what's classic and good at a young age! :D

Not weird at all. You just have decent taste in music.

Not at all, I'm 17 and I have a Chuck Berry CD. I also like blues like B.B. King (who's older than my grandparents), Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown, Lightnin' Hopkins, and I like old r&b like Otis Redding. I even like surf music. So no, it's not weird.

Chuck Berry is one of the founders of rock music. You could do worse than to study at his feet. 8)

nah it's called being able to decide for yourself what music is good and not letting the mainstream media/rolling stone magazine/pop culture MTV do that for you. I applaud you for this.

Not at all--just don't imitate his personal life.

After all on an old SNL they had Guido Sarducci doing a report on the Voyager probe that had a time capsule sent into space--in it was a record with a variety of music from all parts of the earth--on it was Chuck Berry. Sarducci said NASA had received a response to the probe-
It was, "Send more Chuck Berry"

SO not odd at all.

Haha, I'm 13 and I LOVE Chuck Berry!! :P
I've adored his music ever since several months ago, when I came upon "Live at the Fillmore Auditorium" in our local library. My reaction was "YESSSS!!" because I had been searching for new GOOD music. Music that had been around the block more than a couple of times. :P

Chuck Berry's awesome!

"When I was

Silver bells, hanging on a string
She said it was my ding-a-ling-a-ling, oh!!...." 8)

I also like B.B. King. :D

B.B. King is really good too!

Just noticed most of the records on my collection are older than I am... I just don't think modern bands have the same energy and bite that the older ones do.

Just realised I am starting to sound like my dad!!

The funny thing is that Chuck Berry was considered a shredder by 1950s standards. Great guitar player.

It's like John Lee Hooker said you got the boogie in you and it gotta come out.The next symptom is a craving for Howlin' Wolf,Hubert Sumlin,Muddy Waters,Albert King the list goes on,with luck it'll turn into an incurable addiction for which the only treatment to alleviate the wonderful ailment is to soak up as much as you can, pick up a guitar and let your fingers do the talkin'.
