I've never seen this subject posted.Has anyone else passed on buying a guitar and always regretted not buying it?There are 3 I let slip through my fingers. The first was a reverse Gibson Firebird VII sunburst with vibrola and 3 HBers. and gold plating for $400.Next was a white '62 Les Paul SG with 3 pups vibrola and gold plating also $400.Third was a '58 Fender Jazzmaster poorly refinished in white but complete and in excellent playing condition for $150.I also let pass a circa '69-'70 Marshall 1959 Plexi stack with factory white vinyl and blue grill cloth for $800.It was in the mid 70's that these gems were offered to me and I didn't have the presence of mind to get a bank loan at the time a decision I'll regret the rest of my days.Anyone else have a similar heartbreak?

I can't say I was kicking myself, but I had my eye on a nice Tele Thinline and a Baha a few weeks ago. I messed around too long, when I went back in both were gone.

Yep.

I could have bought a Burgundy Mist Metallic Fender Performer bass AND and matching Performer guitar around ten years ago.

I didn't have the money.

A brand new Les Paul Custom in Heritage Cherry Sunburst on sale for $2500 (the price of a standard >_>). I had the cash, I had the will, but I said, nah, I'll save it for college. Now I've taken a year off college due to not being able to afford it anyway. >_____________>

Not many really. The main one isn't even a big find or anything. It was blue/green-ish Ibanez Talman electric about 12 years ago. Great looking guitar, felt good, sounded great, not expensive. It was just very cool to me. I can get a used one off ebay now, but I wish I would have gotten that one.

There are guitars I kicked myself for buying though. One of which was an Ovation acoustic. Hated that thing and returned it a week later.

Gibson Les Paul Classic in Heritage Cherry. Some guy on craigslist had it for $1100. I asked everyone in my family for a loan and only came up with about $400

I still think about that guitar everyday and all the good times we could have had together

No but I have kicked myself and had to visit my proctologist for selling some really great guitars and basses over the years.

Three Gibson Thunderbirds, all early 60"s, one right side up body and two reverse. Two I sold to pay rent .. the other was for bus fare while on the road.

A '61 PBass with a broken truss rod, a '63 because I needed to pay my rent.

A 1948 Gibson TG50 tenor guitar I sold to a collector back in '83 because I needed to pay rent.

In hindsight now .... I see a pattern :)

I could kick myself for not buying a 57 Vintage Reissue Strat before the price increase. Now I cant force myself to spend that much on one.

If you have seen "Gone in 60 Seconds", then you will understand why I call this '79 Gibson Les Paul KM my "Eleanor". The KMs were handmade in the Kalamazoo plant (not mass produced in Nashville). I could had it brand new for in 1980 for $750.

Woulda, coulda, shoulda...

Mine would be passing up a 1987 Les Paul Custom in cream color for $450 with OHSC. It was in mint condition. This was back in 1994. Man, to this day I would kick my self silly for letting that one go.

I am going to be kicking myself the minute the economy turns around for not buying a mint EBMM EVH in natural quilt for $2800. The guitar was just about never played but I just came off a massive GAS attack and tuition was coming up for the kids and also did not want to hear the wife and could of should of would of. They only made 400 like that I found out so that made me want to vomit even more.
