There are a lot of greatest hits albums out by Chuck so you should have no problem finding it.

Amazon has his Chess Collection 1 & 2, after many Chess CDs I have total faith in the quality :)

Did you check I-Tunes. It might be on there and you can listen to samples before you buy.

I've got a CD called "The Great 28" by Chuck Berry. 20 of them are the same song.

I have one of the Milleneum Collection CDs, "The Best of Chuck Berry" not too bad considering how old the recordings are. What's really amazing is that he's still playing. I ran into him about 6 weeks ago on a flight from St. Louis to Dallas, he was heading to South America for a gig. Other than that he's sort of doing the Les Paul thing - playing 1 night a week in the St Louis area. Not bad for someone who will be 83 in a couple weeks!

 It's true that Chuck beat that one riff to a pulp. But...........you gotta admit................it's a great riff!

One of the things I love most about Chuck Berry music, is that as you listen, you can actually hear guitar-centric rock and roll being created. He is not only essential, but irreplaceable. No Chuck and no Jimi.... no SRV... no Duane... no Pete... no Jimmy.. no Eric... no Keith... no Jeff... no Carlos... no, well you get the idea.

Funny you should ask about CD's, because I was in Best Buy last week and picked up a digitally ramastered CD called Chuck Berry "The Definitive Collection". The sound is brighter, and more detailed than my "the Great Twenty-Eight", and I feel that I am hearing these songs again, for the first time. It also has the necessary "Promised Land" that is not on "Great 28". It was only $10.

And........ looking at my The Rolling Stone Record Guide from 1979, I quote: "... or the magnificent "St. Louis to Liverpool", one of the greatest rock & roll records ever made." I shall be purchasing this soon too.

I saw him "live" in France last year.
It was pityful, only his greediness could explain such a desesperate show.
One should know when to stop.

I saw him years ago and he was great. You have to consider his age.

I saw him at the Filmore East in NYC over thirty years ago and my expectations were not fulfilled. He was one of my early influences and has never delivered in live performance, the quality of the guitar playing in his recorded sessions. His habits are well known. He travels alone, never rehearses, and essentially 'wings it', leaving the heavy duty to the backing band and is generally proported to be 'a not nice' person.

Do I consider his contribution to what we call rock music to be seminal. Absolutely. However, I expected of him what I would have expected of myself as a stage performer and had always attempted to deliver. Alain and others in the Forum who have been up there know exactly what I mean: professional, polished, perfect.
