I have an original'66-'67 Vox Clyde McCoy,the one everybody tries to copy.I've tried many different pots in it Dunlop and others but none can duplicate the"vomit"sound of the original pot.I've literally searched world wide to find the right pot and finally found it at North Star Audio in Hawaii the email is tomlanik@comcast.net I've heard from various sources that the Pro Pot they make is faithful to the original.Maybe a pot change would do the trick for you,I know they've certainly made a difference in my case.
