I have a Micro BR, but can't figure out how to listen to 'aux in' (ie. DVD guitar lessons from my computer) and my guitar at the same time and in real time, as it were. As usual the BOSS manual is friggin' useless. Can it be done?

Silent practice and play-along portability are the only things I really want this device for.

I might swap it for a Pocket POD, as I understand the POD will allow real-time play-along, but if I'm mistaken please tell me.

I also have a micro-br, don't know how to make it use more than 1 input at a time, without resorting to using a small external mixer.
But another thing that really bugs me about it is its use of 1gb sd cards max.

Have you tried to find 1gb sd cards recently?
I finally managed to find a 3 pack at wallymart but most other stores just laughed when I asked about them.

It is not a bad little recorder but it has some real annoyances.
Oh it also eats aaa's like candy if you did not buy the 20$ boss PA-A adapter, which then makes it not very portable.

i use also micro br and have installed a 2gb sd card. i use most the mp3 function at the moment for exercising and fave songs i want to hear in pauses.

looks like that the micro br has problem with the format you want to store there.
some possibilities to seperate the music and spoken instructions from the dvd as wav files and make mp3's of it?

good luck and cheers
:D

Yes, according to faq's you can put in a 2gb card but the unit will only use the first gig, it won't use the full card.
I also made a mistake the br uses 2 AA that it eats quick.

But we are getting the thread side tracked from the original question. :)

It's quite okay. FWIW I've bought a POD – which allows you to play along with tracks on your iPod or computer – and am selling the BOSS, which does not.

I use the tascam gizmo similar to POD. Zero latency is the deal or the feature on these devices even if the computer is not the part of equation.

My tascam (i can't remember the model but the same price as line 6 POD)
Pros:
1. You can hook it up to the Mac or PC via USB to listen to your instrument playing and computer loops on Computer speakers
2. You can plug in the monitors
3. You can plu in the headphones for the silent listen.
4. You dont need the computer it has internal amp and very vox sounding decent one.
5. You can plug in external mp3 player fro a jam alongs.
6. MIDI IN/OUT
7. Mike IN

Cons:
1. It crashes some other software programs id used on computer.
2. From time to time it just will not work propery with computer controlled input/outpust until restarted a couple of times.
3 Sometimes generates strange hiss.
4. Difficult to reset if you are playing with PC and you want to swithch mp3 only or you want to plug in the mike to record/listen vocals. There are no presets you must adjust manually for every change.

I have a Digitech RP355 which has the learn a lick feature....great stuff...never an issue with it...plus it has a ton of great amp modeling you can do so you really think you are playing through whatever amp you want when you have your headphones on...hope that this helps.
