Just saw the film "It Might Get Loud" Jimmy Page was in great form. I would recommend to those who have not seen it!

Just saw the film yesterday in the theater. Fantastic film! You get great insight into the creative minds of three awesome musicians. Out of the three, I was least familiar with Jack White's work, but after seeing the film, I'm gonna seek out some White Stripes and Raconteurs music!

Whoot, got to see it :D

Interesting crowd too, mostly older folk and from the discussions and comments going on almost all seemed to be musicians.

Guess it appeals mostly to a very specific crowd.

I thought it was a great film. The part where they all play together at the end was a bit anti-climactic but seeing the backgrounds on all of them was fun. particularly the part where Edge shows one of his guitar parts with and without the effects (that bit is in the trailer at the movie's website: http://www.sonyclassics.com/itmightgetloud/)

I think the best part was when Jimmy Page is playing Ramble On with Edge and Jack White watching. They both have this look on their face like "Heh.. That's Jimmy Page playing Ramble On and he's doing it just for us." The same look that any high school kid would have in the same situation. You see right through both of their rock star facades at that moment.

I think it was also really interesting that Edge's style is a reaction to Page's style and White's style is a reaction to Edge's style. Interesting to put them together.

I thought it was a nice look at three very different musicians. The beginning was great with Jack White making a guitar out of a coke bottle, a couple boards, some wire and and an old pickup. All of the things about how they got started were great, but a couple things made an impression. One of them (I thought it was The edge, but in retrospect t was probably Page), said that the "wept" when they watched Spinal Tap because it was too close to reality. The second was Jack Whites comment about doing battle with his guitar, and the third was the ending when they're sitting around with acoustics and playing Robbie Robertson's "The Weight" and the Edge realizes they're playing it wrong. BTW, I thought the ending was perfect. Three of the greatest electric guitarists sitting around playing acoustics in an open G chord sequence. Well worth the DVD when it comes out. (It closed in Dallas tonight).

It was the Edge who wept at Spinal Tap because it was too real. I agree that it was a lot of little insights into these legendary players that makes the movie so powerful, and fun.

BTW, I also love Jimmy Page's guitar storage room. wow!
