Quick update:

My son-in-law Gerry was finally released from the hospital today. He is still pretty beat up, but is glad to be home. He has a fractured leg, elbow and transverse process in his back; a hematoma in his head which is resolving itself, much road rash, and has lost the function of a kidney. They operated and detached the kidney from all of its attachments and are going to let it be absorbed by the body - I did not know that they did this, but I am not a doctor (I have played freelance gynecologist but I doubt that counts.)

The killer was moved to the Kerr County Jail at his request - apparently he did not feel safe in Bandera. Imagine that.

I am currently in San Antonio. Russianracehorse - I wish we had time and opportunity to grab a beer and tell some tales. Another time under better circumstances perhaps.

We are going to lay my daughter to rest on Sunday. Maybe then we will all be able to start the healing process.

I am so sorry for your loss TC, and I have no idea what you are going through as far as losing a daughter. I have a 17 year old daughter and I can't imagine what I would do if something were to happen to her. I pray for you, that the Lord will comfort you and your family.

Your still very much in our thoughts mate. I'm still completely at a loss for anything to say to you that could console you. So am keeping this short. This is where internet communication seems to fall short to my mind. People that you interact with, on whatever level, begin to mean something to us. Yet remain intangible via this medium. Guess what I'm trying to say is that I wish there was something I could physicaly do to help out a bit. I dont think anything much could help much at the moment though.
