hey.....am I the only one on the planet who wouldn't mind seeing Fender / Squier bring back the " '51 Model"?......I mean c'mon guys....it's about time for a "re-issue" of a guitar that's easy to buy....easy to own....easy to PLAY....and modifiable to the "nth" degree! What would it take for that to happen I wonder?.....and if ya gonna do it....do it BIG.....maybe some new colors?....(Sherwood Green Metallic?......Transparent Orange?.....Transparent Purple?....Metallic Copper?.....Chocolate Brown?) and finally you could even go with a "Deluxe" version....gold hardware......maybe a trem on some of 'em.....active pickups.....just an idea suggestion from one of the die hard fans out there makin' it happen every night!

I bought my '51 from my tech's "used but not abused" corner in his shop for $125. I love it!

Check fleabay and other online classifieds, they are all over the place for under $150 and several have some cool mods!

Not bad looking indeed!....Imagine you get the sexy curves of a strat....with the stately look of a tele....with the testicular fortitude of a humbucker...balanced off with the beautiful twang and spank of a single coil....! I'm hoping like h*ll they really DO bring these back!...I want to get at least three of 'em...and almost all of my guitar playin' buddies have been clamoring for one also...so there's definitely a strong market out there for it...you can only get lucky "x" amount of times buying someone else' used guitar,.....besides...I've always preferred to have my guitar "age" with me......LoL!

Create (if you don't have one) a photobucket account. Upload an image, and then when it is uploaded scroll over it in your album and there will be a drop-down menu. Click on the IMG code and it is copied...then paste it here.

Agreed on the '51, looks classy!

They look great! What are the controls on them? I can't see a pickup selector in the pics. Do they just have 2 volume controls or something?

The bridge pickup has a coil tap, set in the volume control, to switch between single-coil and humbucker configuration. The second control, which normally would operate as a tone control on a Telecaster or early Precision Bass, is a three-position pickup selector switch for choosing between the neck alone, combined neck/humbucker, or humbucker alone.

I had a chance to buy one of those last year before christmas and went out to get the money for it and went back and it was gone. Kicking myself .

There MIGHT have been....but only in "prototype" mode....nothing ever hit the store shelves officially...I too remember seeing a picture of one with just one pickup....hmm....wonder what happened to THAT one?...
