Well was just reading who made the cut for induction for the 2010 class
Genesis
The Hollies
Jimmy Cliff
Kiss
LL Cool J
Well it is looking like the hall is deffinetly running out of steam as this is becoming the norm to include a Rapper or someone that has as much to do with R&R as I do with NASA. This group will be combined with a holdover pool that includes/
ABBA
The Chantels
Donna Summer
The Stooges
Laura Nyro
Darlene Love

Well yes I can pool five of these artist but why does my gut tell me that LL Cool J or Donna Summer are going to get in. They had a great idea that came to fruition that has turned into a joke and a popularity contest, as there are still great artist that have gotten passed over and now it seems they will never get in. And if one member can make a case for LL or Donna that has some substance As God is my judge if you ever come to or are in N.Y Dinner is on me.

Donna Summer started out as a backup singer for Three Dog Night. This led her to meeting a couple of producers that promoted and marketed her quite well.

She has received five Grammy Awards, placed a Top Forty hit on the Billboard Hot 100 in every year from 1976 ("Love to Love You Baby") to 1984 ("There Goes My Baby").

She also is the first female artist to have four #1 singles in a 13-month period, and the first female artist to have five Billboard Hot 100 Top Ten hits in a calendar year and was the first artist to score three consecutive number-one double albums.

The music biz is what it is....

Chet you know my brother brought up the same question and I thought he was not eligable yet but my brother says he has been for a few years now and I am freaking out. I mean LL Cool J are they really serious. It seems now they have to have a rapper every year as he is the third in a row and that is because rap and rock are? it has turned into a Joke. Mike I at least agree with the fact that although I hated disco when it came out but Donna Summer proved she could do more than groan and had a great set of pipes so her nomination does not get my blood pressure up but LL Cool J. I mean Alice Cooper,SRV,Heart,Yes,Moody Blues,Rush and a lot more deserving acts get passed over. I personally would throw my nod to Heart as they were the real deal and original multi female led hard rock band. Ann Wilson can blow the roof of with her vocals IMHO the best female rock vocalist ever, and Nancy can come in and play with the guys anyday of the week. Gender aside she is a rock guitarist not some chick banging out 3 bar chords.

LL freaking Cool J? In the ROCK N ROLL HALL OF FAME? Jeez now I have heard everything. I guess that means Aerosmith will be inducted into the HIP HOP Hall of fame? Nah, that's "different". Ridiculous. This is definitely a "quote"/fairness thing. Great now even Rock and Roll has been effected by the PC bug.

Do any real R&R music lover actually still care about the R&R hall of fame anyway?

Guys, I live near cleveland and let me tell you.The Rock and roll hall of fame has long been a joke.We are talking about a bunch of people who voted the Dave Clark 5 in.All it is anymore is politics. If we vote such and such in then those fans will come here and spend 20 bucks to see some cool memrobilia and we get rich.Give me a break.Whos next?William Hung? Around here they have no credibility left.Like Chet says,no SRV.To be honest , he hasnt even been nominated.A guy who brought back the blues when everyone was listening to hair metal or synthesized pop.As Peter Boyle used to say "What a load of crap".
