Thanks for caring everyone. Maybe I'll make my shoulder bone into
a gear-shift knob and raffle it off for some lucky forum buddy.

Send me the excess from the gear knob, I'll carve some guitar nuts for you.

You are looking at this from the wrong way...

Be happy you live in a time that where you can get a new shoulder.

Seriously - he really will!

I know that from concrete personal experience. :D I sent him a bone: look what he did:

A guitar nut made from your own shoulder bone. That would be cool - in a kinky kinda way...

 - C

That's going to surgical pathology and thereon into the unknown. Sounds like a classic arthroscopic procedure. It should go well. Remember Les Paul. They set his shattered arm in a position to be able to play guitar.
There's encouragement for you.

I hope your surgery goes well.I'm coping with arthritisin my hands and as al lead player for 40+ yrs it's hard to cope but I'm adapting my style,a lot slower and fewer and smaller bends.I also worked in a rehab facility for 30 yrs and I know that a lot of joint replacements give people a new lease on life so keep your chin up it might be a tremendous improvement for you.Good Luck...keep us posted.
