Nice playing! And yeah, that little Vox sounds great. Small tube amps are really, really hard to beat. Were you playing through any pedals, or was it all straight in?

The AC4TV is straight guitar and amp. Thanks! The VT30 is a modeling amp and I had it set to UK 80s. No pedals, just straight guitar to amp.

I think both sound good but I like the sound of the VoxAC better, it sounds more natural. I have never liked the Solid State Vox amps because of their 'digital' sound but you seem to be getting a nice tone through them, it all depends who is playing the guitar in the end I guess.

Thanks! The VT30 has a tube. I guess that would make it a hybrid.

AC sounds better to me. But I like that thick, warm tube tone and minimal effects.

The VT sounded ok, but it's tone relies on a lot of effects to sound good, though I think the effects are too much.

I used to have the VT15 which is a solid state and it really did sound pretty good until you cranked it up then it was robotic sounding. Nevertheless is was still a good practice amp. I think the AC30 is the best sounding amp that i've tried.

Thanks Bill. I also love the AC4TV, its probably the best amp I purchased in the last year. I can honestly say it dethroned my Pro Jr as my main amp for home use. Its ben about a month now since I purchased the AC4 and the tone or sound just keeps getting better. Perhaps, the amp is finally breaking in.

I tried out different guitars with this amp with different pickups, Les Paul with burstbucker pro humbuckers and an SG Classic with P90s and my Road Worn with TEX MEX single coil pickups. Of all the guitars, the AC4 seems to like strats or single coils. With the Les Paul, the bottom end tends to get too farty and you need to lower the amp volume to get a decent bottom end. The p90s gets a little too buzzy.

I should do a video showing the AC4 with different guitars.
