I have a gig Sunday night with my band. We get to play the one blues song we know this week, although technically it's southern rock, not blues. But everybody calls it "the blues song". On that song I have a guitar solo and so does the other guitarist in the band. It's great. :D

Last weekend, a co-worker brought in a damaged acoustic guitar, to see if i thought it could be saved.(I said yes, but sent him to a repair guy i respect, because i wouldn't have been comfortable attempting the fix unless it was my guitar.)

Anyway, we were in the parking lot. i played a couple little riffs, and someone walking by threw a dollar into the guitar case, so does that count as a gig? it id pay i guess.

No gigs this weekend, which is a nice change. I have a recording session on Sunday though. I have a few gigs coming up soon though.

Looking forward to a songwriter's retreat coming up in October. Me, two good musician friends, very nice cabin on Lake Huron, good food, good drinks. One whole weekend with the focus of writing and recording a CD full of original music (bass, guitars, keys, hand percussion, etc).

On Sunday morning I played in the band for the youth group at my church. I sang and played electric guitar, and I think it went pretty well! The songs we played were "Give You Glory" (by Jeremy Camp) and "The Heart Of Worship" (by Matt Redman).

On Sunday we played a 4 hour at an outdoor festival. Rained a little but a decent crowd showed up anyway. Tonight, Tuesday we play another outdoor at a local mall. This coming weekend we play a wedding on Saturday and Ocktoberfest on Sunday. Things slow down the rest of the year. Not many November / December weddings and Christmas parties. We do have a few potential gigs out there. Next spring and summer are getting booked up quickly though.
