hey guys just thought i'd tell you that i finally got a electric guitar! I got a Gibson Les paul vintage mahogany from guitar center. it's not a fender but it's still amazing! We had to make 3 trips to guitar center in two day though because when i first got the guitar there was something wrong with the jack so we had to go back and exchange it, then the cable stopped working so we had to go get a new one! lets just say that i'm good at transporting guitars and equipment! i like guitar stores but if i'm gonna be at one that much i'd like to be getting paid for it

Congrats man. I love mine. I'm sure you'll get years of enjoyment out of it. Now your playing will change radically. By the way, you can get a strat like tone from those Burstbucker Pro's by messing around with the center toggle position. Sort of ringy like position 4 on a strat.

Have a great time with it! Amazing you could hang out here and buy a Gibson. Must mean that it really grabbed you. Try out a Strat for you next one. I love my Strats.

ya i'm lovin it (although i'm pretty much broke now. o well it's worth it :) )
the burstbucker pros are awesome imo they have really good mids and high end. they are also pretty clear when clean (especially for a humbucker) i was expecting them to be muddy but they're good. i can even get a nice jangly tele sound out of the bridge when the tone is on high. so if you're in the market for a humbucker guitar i recommend either buying one with the bbpros or upgrading.

i love it and i can tell right now that it's gonna be with me the rest of my life :D

You bought a LPVM this month? I bought one in May and I thought it was one of the last ones out there since they've been discontinued. (It was a limited edition commissioned by the GC / MF combine.) It's the only Gibby I own. I can't see paying 3 times the price for a Standard when I can get the same sound out of this.

Nice ax -- chambered body, light finish, AlNiCo V Burstbucker Pros !! Did you get red or brown?

brown of course

this guitar fits me perfect. it's not going anywhere. i'm not going to ever think about selling it. it'd be like selling a friend or family. :)

the chambering gives a nice unplugged acoustic sound (albeit it's a little quiet) i find myself playing it unplugged almost as much as plugged

the weight relief is nice cause it doesnt weigh the standard ten pounds of an old les paul. also i'll never worry about feeling embarrased playing this around other guitarists like with my cheap epi acoustic.

I know you feel, I got my first bass 3 weeks ago. It was a Fender Standard P Bass in the sunburst tone, i got it used but it was cheaper and in pretty much mint condition, so well worth it. Fender is awesome but I have no prob with Gibsons, espesially the V Factor. I like Les Pauls for me I would choose the cherry sunburst one, but the one you got isn't bad. Post pics!

I got a red one. Actually it wasn't about color, it was about quality. I read many reviews before I bought it and I wanted to steer clear of the problems I read about - wood chips in the chambers, holes in the headstock, etc. - so I tried quite a few before I found a keeper.

Anyway, enjoy!!
