We've been going steady for barely a year now and she's already mentioning the big m word. I like her alot but wasnt sure if i could handle it seeings how im 40 and never been married yet.

I brushed it aside until we dicussed 2 of my favorite hobbies, games and guitars, she said she doesnt mind if i have an xbox and computer games as long as we spend at least 1 hour a day of quality time.

On the guitar subject she said if you love guitars then i want you to have a whole room full! She seriously wants to buy me an American Strat or Tele when her income taxes come back.

When i heard that im thinking, is this too good to be true? She said if we can afford it she would like to buy me a guitar as often as possible.

now obviously i have more hobbies than just those 2 but she is so understanding im very tempted to say yes and marry her next year.

What do you think? lol..

Hi Radiohead: I got married for the first (and only) time at 40. It was the best thing I ever did - but that was for somewhat better reasons than games boxes and guitars.

Mind you, my wife always encourages my musical purchases and is only surprised I don't spend more on them.

Which helps.

Oh im not, i truly love her but it's just that i dont know how i will adjust to being married. Ive lived with women before but never in the traditional marriage type of deal where i knew i couldnt leave.

I would marry her because she is a good person whom i know in my heart i can trust and genuinely wants to make me happy. Im sure she will have her moments of when she isnt so understanding, lol.. The thing is tho is we truly want each other to be happy.

The guitar thing is just a bonus

Love and her being the "right one" is the only good reason to get married. Her encouraging you with your guitar purchases is the icing on the cake.

If she's right you should know...Tomorrow will mark my 30th wedding anniversary... It's nice being married, I defiantly found the right one
