Rodrigo Y Gabriela '11:11' http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9453664&st=rodrigo&lp=1&type=product&cp=1&id=2009776 was released this week, and I've listening to it constantly.

Rodrigo y Gabriela http://www.rodgab.com/ (Rodrigo and Gabriela) are a Mexican musical duo who specialize in playing fast, rhythmic classical/flamenco guitars. The duo's members are Rodrigo Sánchez, lead guitar, and Gabriela Quintero, rhythm guitar.

The pair, were residing in Dublin, Ireland, but are now back in Mexico.

11:11 has 11 tracks, each decided to musician/location, for example track 1 - 'Hanuman', is dedicated to Santana, not so much in Santana style but in spirit.

Track 2 - 'Buster Voodoo' is dedicated to Jimi Hendrix, 'Buster' was Jimi nickname as a child. Rodrigo plays Hendrix's licks in the song, but to me it's Gabriela's amazing pick-less rhythm playing that is just jaw drooping to hear and see. Note I wrote see, the bonus DVD has a tutorial on how to play 'Buster Voodoo'.

The amazing Alex Skolnick plays electric guitar on track 10 - 'Atman' which is dedicated to Dimebag Darrell.

This is an amazing album by two amazing guitarists.

Oh, I'm not, it was the Hennessey talking . Actually, I'm not upset with the posters, I was more upset with myself for even contributing to the negative energy, and waste of bandwidth.

So I cleansed my musical soul by watching the rest of the Rodrigo y Gabriela bonus DVD. The DVD itself is worth the cost of the package. I had smile to hear Gabriela's English, accented Spanish, touched with a Irish brogue in a interview.

There is also video footage of them both rehearsing all the songs. I'm just amazed with their technique, their classical/flamenco guitars don't have fret markers!

Instead of recording last night, I spent about three hours practicing on 'Buster Voodoo', wow, it was fun.

You can hear Buster Voodoo here http://www.rodgab.com/look_music.html, and see them here live http://www.rodgab.com/look_video.html.
