Hey guys, I love my fender MIA Tele, it sounds amazing, its comfortable and very light and looks amazing! But...

More recently i need something that could get away with doing hard rock, something with alot thicker stuff to it. I have a gibson les paul but i find it large, cumbersome and heavy (Even though it does sound good). So i want to use my tele but it sounds VERY grungy due to the singles on it.

I heard a rumour that its do-able to thicken out the sound of the singles to make them sound alot thicker like humbuckers!

I have a Fender Hot Rod Deville 2x12 and i use a Fender satellite as a slave to my deville, plus i have loads of effect pedals that i dont really use but if it helps i have quite a few!

Any help guys?

I've been thinking about contacting Todd Rockfield, I saw a video of him demonstrating his pickup designs, if he would split a mafia or turbo, my x (strat copy) might have some different sounds.

Since you do love the way your Tele presently sounds, changing out the pickup(s) really isn't an option.

Consider a superior EQ pedal for your other requirements. It can add, subtract and retain whatever frequencies you feel your pickups are lacking. It can also be used as a power booster. Next, kick in a bit of overdrive and I'm sure you'll find what you are looking for.

One more thing.... i dont have an eq pedal, one of the few i dont have. Is there anything you can recomend? I hear that the Electro-Harmonix Knockout Attack Equalizer is pretty good.

Without hesitation, the MXR 10-Band Graphic EQ would be my choice. The Electro-Harmonix Knockout Attack Equalizer is a toy by comparison.
