I'm pretty sure they will send it to you. They take credit cards and PayPal. So you do have a pretty good ability to get your money back if they don't deliver.

Don't do it. I'm just saying you probably would get it.

Everybody would laugh at you when they found your American Standard was made in China. See this and look at the headstock:

It would be even worse if your Fender American Standard bass said "Ibanez" on it:

Hi 01GT: +1 - this cannot be over stated. Comparing Gibsons and Fender is apples to oranges.

There is vastly more work in building a Les Paul than a Strat, in particular work that to this day can only be done by hand, such as the binding. And even though carving archtops is significantly mechanised there's more of that as well, and the complicated finish sanding of those tops has to be done by hand. Plus, the timbers cost a lot more too - folks often seem to have no idea how much you have to pay for figured timber.

The Stratocaster is largely made with machines from simple cuts of wood and so is a lot cheaper - after all, that was the whole point of the design, and why it's so clever.

Anyway...

Curious thing about that website. Given that a fake Epiphone costs almost as much as a fake Gibson - who's buying the Epiphones?

The internet can be a great way to exploit the naive, uninformed, and/or clueless person/consumer...Thats who is buying fake Epis.

Under Federal Guidlines there is a crime called mail fraud which I think most people would know of. Do you think Paypal would would cover your purchase if you were buying counterfeit $100 dollar bills because I would believe the Feds would hold them responsible as part of the counterfeiting enterprise because they know what is being sent. So why would paypal cover counterfeit guitars.

Paypal would cover the sale becuase it does not want to get into the business of determining if fake guitars are being sold.

Fender would have to pursure trademark and copyright violations in the venue of the occurence. Are there such laws in that venue?

Now the question is: "To what markets and what vendors are these counterfeits being directed.?

Doc you are a man of high intelligence and you know the answer to that question already. lol Believe me these things are coming in here and they are coming in large numbers. I would be checking every cargo container entering a U.S port from China. Why think small 40-50 guitars going through the web just think what one container can hold coming off a tanker.

Co-inka-dentally....I was discussing this very issue this morning with my world class expert in the matter who, by the way, was dressed in his court best for a trial a trademark/copyright infringement action this morning.

He said that there are no specific controlling laws in China. It's all handled on the 'local level' Freely translated it means that the company, if interested arranges for the equivalent of the Allied attack on Dresden and, after the dust settles, leaves nothing behind intact.

Now....you're talking
