I want to mount my guitars on the wall and was looking for a little insight from "the group".
I want to watch my cost, but I don't want to jeopardize my babies' safety!
I've seen a bunch on eBay for $5 to $40.
I know you get what you pay for but any suggestions are welcome!
 BTW I'm going to be putting up a board first, so I don't have to try and find the studs(plaster walls).
Thanks!

I use String Swings and as you can see in my pic I put up a 1x4 and mounted them to that. I have had no issues and my guitars are very happy hanging there. Not to mention they look great hanging there too!

The hercules hangers work well but a tad expensive.

'Did almost identical to what Chet did; 1x4 piece of scupltured oak, heavily oiled, attached securely to studs with 3" screws, hangers mounted thereon.

'Bought a bunch from local SA, price was like $12.50 or so, nice product.

I like the Hercules with the locking tabs too. I mounted mine directly to the studs and found that the standard 16" stud spacing works perfectly for the width of my instruments. I like the "clean" look without any mounting board. Speaking of clean, that's the only downside - you have to clean them from time to time.Image

I'm a swing string guy myself. They're good. I have 11 guitars hanging from them. However Hercules are a bit more secure with the locking arms.

Dumb question... For an acoustic, will a humidifier still work as well if hung instead of left in its case?
