Note the rhythm guitar mimic'ing the bass by playing the descending bass riff on top of the chords. Presumably with the thumb (its the only way i can figure of doing it over Dmi). An Utter masterclass in that style of playing. All written for his dad to sing in the pub whilst playing the piano, hence the altered bass notes.

The opening riff to Crazy Train and Heart Breaker=good riffs for building dexterity.
