I wanted to share an experience I recently had with Stewart-MacDonald. All too often we hear or read stories where someone has had a problem with a company or their products and has had to jump through hoops to resolve that problem. Not me.

I recently purchased some parts from SM that got “lost” in shipment. The Post Office claimed they had delivered the package and the mail box place I use claimed they never received the package.

I called SM and without hesitation they sent me a duplicate set of parts at no cost, not even for shipping. WOW! The good news is that the mail box place found the “lost” package so I'm able to return the original shipment.

It's not often you find a company willing to go the extra mile for their customers. Stewart-MacDonald is one of those companies. I bet you'll be able to guess where I'll go shopping for parts in the future.

When I originally bought parts from them in the 80's they used to ship COD. I built my first guitar with one of their fret boards and fret wire out of maple. There was no internet to order from and you used regular mail to place an order. Local music stores would sell for outrageous prices if at all they wanted to sell parts or help you. I bought a lot of parts from them through the years and built a Jackson style guitar with an ash strat body. But lately they have become very pricey and I have found less expensive sources for parts on the internet. I try not to order too much at once in case the shipment gets lost.
