A lot of extraordinary things happened that day. Nobody can ever forget the loss, but I prefer to focus on the heroism and compassion. Check out this article.

"How 9/11 Should Be Remembered: The Extraordinary Achievements of Ordinary People" by Rebecca Solnit

Thanks Russian. That was a well thought out article. It would be great if we all could get on that track.

This day is truly a testament in what our great America is all about. The heroic civilians that lost there lives to protect and save others. The firemen and police that did the same. I love our amazing country and I love our armed forces, keep on fightin' guys! We'll end this thing soon, once and for all! :)

P.S. My heart goes out to all those that lost a loved one in that infamous day.

Lets take a minute, and remember 911. Where were you, and what were you doing when America was attacked.

Please take time to be thankful for the freedoms that we enjoy (and take for granted) Thank you to all who serve in the military, and to those who do the dirty jobs we just cant understand, or comprehend, that keep us safe!

heres a great tube link...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sekHkR5BKOY

As one who was there, and is also a vet, I'm going to remember them well and celebrate their too short time with us by playing (a strat of course) this evening with humility, but also with good cheer.

Someone said something to the effect that we overcame one of the most inconceavable events in history.

God bless the brave men and women that carried us through this horrific event and those that died doing so.

Cherokee you hit it right on the head. I was 2 years old in 1964 and growing up I would always here older people talk about how everyone knew where they were when Kennedy was shot. Well after what happened on 911 I know exactly what they meant. I was on a boat fishing in Montauk L.I when a guy came out of the cabin and said a plane hit into one of the towers. Everyone figured it had to be a small private plane and continued to fish and talk about it. But when the Captain came down and said another plane hit the other tower I can remember everyone scrambling into the cabin listening to the radio with shocked looks on there faces. The minute they said the Pentagon was hit the Captain headed for the Marina. I can remember me and my friend Gary getting to the hotel and putting on the TV and being in a state of shock. The house I grew up in which my mother still lives in, you used to be able to sit on the stoop and see the Towers straight across from Bklyn right to the city. When I got home there was nothing there. My wife lost her best friend and I lost a few friends also. The fire house lost like 9 fire fighters and debris was still coming over into Bklyn lots of papers. Sometimes when I am at my mothers and they put the two lights on that shoot up and look as if the towers are there it is just an eerie feeling. One that never goes away.
