Can someone suggest a good Clapton CD to keep an eye out for, I just realised that I don't have a Clapton CD in the collection  I am looking for a nice bluesy Clapton CD with plenty of that Stratocaster tone 8) Cheers.

"Complete Clapton" and you got the basics covered, it's a good compilation from Cream to date.

Clapton has a 2 disc set called "Blues", that I really love. I figured you would too. :]

Also checkout his "Me and Mr Johnson" album playing all Robert Johnson stuff. Also his "Riding With The King" album with BB King is good too. And - oh yeah - seriously get Derek & the Dominoes. It's a crime if you do not have that one.

Wow! Great feedback, that is why I like forums so much! Thanks.

I have never even known about some of these albums and very soon I will be buying an Eric Clapton poster (I have a list of players who I want posters of in my music room for inspiration and already I have BB King and Hendrix so far) and I figured before I have a Clapton poster on the wall I need at least one of his CDs 8)

Also consider the 'Layla' box set. It has some interesting jams you can actually play along in with Clapton and Allman. There's also the 4-CD box set 'Crossroads' as well as 'Crossroads II'.

It's a tough go. If you've ever seen his discography, a work product of well over 40 years, you'll understand why a good answer to your question is hard to come by.

Start with the 2 disc "Complete Clapton" collection - a fantastic collection from over the years.

Also check out the Live with Steve Winwood CD that wsa released recently.

And Unplugged, of course.
