Want to apologize ahead of time if topics about other rbands is a no-no. I am new around here so forgive me if i am off topic.

Anyone here own, played or know much about the Agile LP style guitars (Al-2000 or Al-3000) for sale at Rondomusic.com?

I've been doing a little research on them and had a lot of good feedback. Youtube videos seem to support that for $200 the AL-2000 is a great buy.

Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

No need to apologize. We talk about all guitars. I have not heard of them before now but it's a good looking guitar. I just went to look at them. Sorry as I have no info. on quality.

cool deal, because I really want an LP at some point, but it wont be in the budget for a few years. These Agiles have great feedback and reviews all over the net and on youtube. Most everyone I have talked to said they used to own an Epiphone Standard or Lp type model and that for $200 these Agiles smoke an Epi LP to pieces.

I figured for $200, i could always upgrade the humbuckers for $100-150 and have a $350 guitar that would deliver the tone of an LP, within reason.

Anyone else have any feedback, just let me know.

My friend Sane popped up about 5 or 6 years ago with 2 Agiles. When he opened his case I thought it was a Les Paul until I saw the name on the headstock. When he told me what he paid for them I was rolling on the floor. He is an excellent player and was gigging with his band at the time and was going to do a show at CBGBs or down Williamsbrook at the time as I am not sure. But I remember telling him to take my Clapton Strat as I could not imagine him gigging a show with an ax that was under $200. Well he takes the strat and they were doing another show in Red Hook Bklyn but he shows up with the Agile and is telling me the ax is a killer. I just thought he was losing his mind but I have to admit the guitar was excellent and he was so on that night during the last song (they played all originals) he slammed the guitar into wall. The guitarist from the opening acts came running to the stage because they thought he slammed a Les Paul. So I would say from jamming with him and watching him do shows those guitars are no joke for how amazingly cheap they are. A ton of guys play them on Harmony Centrals forum and get into wars with other forum players that diss them. I also seen that they came out with a line that copies a PRS who was suing the guy to stop---I found that funny PRS suing someone for copying his guitars. But for the price it is a very well made and looking guitar.

Hello Dbr2026,

I've played em and they're pretty good value.
The 3100 series are a bit of step above w/ebony fretboard.
they also offer a 1 3/4 wide nut which is neat.
The best feature is they put their own name on the headstock.

Give us a pic if you get one.

Cheers.

I did the same thing a year ago. Appalled at gibson prices i opted to buy a cheap copy and keep plugging away at it until i got it playing and sounding right.

Its taken a good while to get it sorted out. I had to spend an inordinate amount of time sorting the fretwork. The bridge and tailpiece have been changed too. Luckily the pickups were top class, though slightly underpowered (presumably like 58/59 lp's). The tuners are great too. Now the serious stuff. The fretboard wont stop sucking in oils and seems constantly dry. Lem oil it, 20 minutes later itss utterly bone dry and looking like it hasnt been treated in years. It could be a big problem in time to come.
I think lots of people buy stuff then start spouting its just as good as blah blah blah. I think their trying to fool themselves a lot of the time. The hours i put into getting that guitar playing right i could have bought 2 VOS's. Their rated as being great copies too, lots of notable British players are said to be using them.

I know you've got everything set right Niki. It's a good looking guitar. You are always surprising me with something else!

I can't speak to the Agiles, but Orvilleowner turned me on to the Orville Les Pauls. I'd really want one of those.

Agile seems to have by far the best reputation for cheaper Les Paul copies.

I have played one, it was surprisingly good.

I've looked at the Agile guitars online but I've never seen one in person, however I really like the LPs' at Guitarfetish.com. They look pretty nice. Check 'em out.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone. Good to see people on here have also heard good things about the Agiles. I am going to order one as soon as they get cases back in stock, I can't imagine shipping it with no bag or case and Rondo is sold out of both. A guy from Youtube did 2 demos of his Agiles for me and after watching them I feel good about buying one. I already have some new humbuckers one of my friends offered to let me have should I decide to change out the pickups.

Think I will go for the Tiger Eye top. Any more feedback please feel free to share. Thanks again for those who contributed already.

Although I have not tried the Agile LP's I do have 2 Agile's that I love. I have an A/E that is an Ovation copy and an A/E Bass. Both are well made, sound good, and are very playable!!!

The Agiles are nice but are the SX Strat copies and Douglas Tele copies on Rondo's site as good. I would like to own one of each and at these prices i could but i'd like to review them before buying.

I have an SX Resonator and it is a good one. Haven't tried any of the other SX or Douglas guitars.
