Today is the last day of summer vacation in the Eastern U.S.

Tomorrow I'll be waking up at 6:20 and being out at 7:00. I guess I'm going to do something fun today, to make it last just a bit longer.

Freshman year, here I come!

High school did suck, I used to always dread when my summer was over because I knew I had to see people that got on my nerves again. Same feeling as when I get together with family for Christmas.

Probably quite a bit away from you. I'm in N.Y.

Ah to be a freshman in highschool is a great time...of course it depends on your student body on how great your experience will be. This is the time to connect with old friends and meet new friends. Best of luck to you this year. Have fun and study hard.

Yes! Except for the study part. I'm one of the lucky few that doesn't have to open a book and still ace the test

Well, maybe not.

Well heres to a good start. My son walked in 3 years ago and was so worried about fitting in as none of his friends from middle school followed him there. I am in Bklyn NY and he goes to Xaverian. I told him the next four years are going to fly bye and he has to sacrifice just about all the fun things he did with his friends like hanging out, as school is the most important thing. I made a deal with him that the summer was his but school was to be treated like a job. Well I have to say I could not be prouder as he is the president of his school and wants to go into law and just about all his friends from middle school have dropped out. Hendrix make sure you put 150% into your school work for the next three years. I say three because your senior year means nothing college wise. When you come home get your homework out of the way dont wait for the end of the night as once your school work is done you can play guitar all night. You are only young once and my regret is that I dropped out of high school after my freshman year. Yes I was lucky that things turned out OK for me but that is why I ride my sons so hard on school as they are going to go all the way. GOOD lUCK.

Dude, I think you're a bit behind. He's dead, as far as I know. He dropped out anyway.

School for us starts on the 10th!! :P
I'm also going to be a Freshman, and since me and my fraternal twin sis have been homeschooled all our lives(no Pre-K or anything like that, either), this is going to be our very first school experience.

God, wish us luck. XD

I'm just very happy that Music Theory I is my first class of the day.... :P :D That's gonna be an easy A. xD

Edit: Typo

Best of fortune to all the students and a bit of soul-deep advice...high school and college are not drills. They are prep for real life and also placement tests for functioning in the vast world.

Please have fun and take your academics as seriously as needing to breathe. There's going to be more competition out there in the world than you can even imagine, when you get there.

Be an American Standard Stratocaster in quality when you graduate, not a made-happenstance-and-carelessly-in-a not-even-developing country piece of sub quality stuff when you "go out onnto the rack".

Best of fortune.
