As for overdrive, I think the Boss SD-1 is a great value. To me it sounds very close to a Tube Screamer for less than half the cost.

+1

You're absolutely right. The SD-1 is a fantastic pedal!

Yeah, its really useful -- and economical, too! Works great as a gain booster...

Love that Bad Monkey...I highly recommend it.

The Bad Monkey is probably the most divisive piece of gear ever manufactured. Players who have used one either love it (and constantly sing its praises) or hate it (and tell everyone about their hatred of it). I haven't played one, but I'm very, very curious.
.

Besides boosting the mids, the main thing that I like about it is the dual outputs, one being a cabinet emulator that can go direct to the board or mixer.

I haven't yet tried, but I hear the Danelectro Cool Cat pedals are pretty good, and have true bypass and metal casings.

From what I've heard, I like the CO-1 Distortion.

Boss and Digitech are great too. And I don't think you should spend as much or nearly as much on a pedal as you did the amp. under $100 should work.

I am very fond of the ModTOne line. The DynoDrive overdrive is very good, as is the Speedbox distortion pedal. And extremely good values as well.
