Hi all, This is my first post here!

My name is Brett and i am a 48 year old beginner player. I have a Valencia nylon acoustic and a Fender F-35 acoustic that i found on the local council cleanup last week, it's in good nic for an oldie, just a few dings on the top, one missing ferule and one string missing.

Are these guitars any good? It sounds nice to me, i guess that's all that counts.

I have replaced the strings with DARCO D2200 Light guage and am trying to find a ferule for it. Any ideas where i can get a replacement ferule?

Cheers, Brett.

Hi Brett, welcome to the Forum.

There seem to be a surprising number of Australians round here at the moment, which is nice. No doubt one of them can help with any shopping enquiries.

Cheers - C

Yeh that's my playground!

I live on the hill, top left of the picture over looking manly beach.
I have been all over Australia and there is nowhere else i would rather live! We have a spare bedroom! Hint, hint. :D

Manly has a great night life, lots of live venues from solo artists to big brass bands. We have a food and wine festival comming up in a few weeks, lots of Jazz bands, rock artists and buskers of all descriptions every where. Yet it still has a beachside town attitude.

Venues include: The Boat Shed, The Steyne Hotel, The New Brighton Hotel, The Ivanhoe Hotel, The Fisho's club, the list goes on...............

These are just in Manly itself, there are lots of other venues along the coast up to the Peninsula of Palm Beach.

Sounds like a travelogue!

Cheers, Brett.

I went to the local guitar shop to get a new ferule for the Fender and he could'nt believe i found it at the garbage tip. He said it is an early 70's model made in Japan, not the crap one out of Tiawan or Korea.

He did'nt have the right ferule but he had one that fits, so now it's ready to go! Cheers for all the welcomes everyone.

Brett. :D

Welcome aboard techead glad to have ya. Wow that is beautiful country, wish I was there right now. I never understand how bad people want to come to NY. Outside of getting whatever you want 24/7 and everything being a block away I dont see the beauty of it, When I see something like this I am floored.
