That's what I always wanted to do. I got my pilot's license before I could drive a car, and I was on track to go to RMC (Royal Military College of Canada) and fly. Unfortunately, a health issue put the kibosh on that dream. I'm a celiac, and it's unfortunate that a trivial and easily remedied condition crushed my dreams. Oh well.

I wound up going to college and I'll finish my degree (political science) at Christmas. My plan is to work in the academic field if I can. I'm also very close to completing my first book. If it happens, I'll consider writing for a living.

Retired from the Air Force / Ohio Air National Guard, currently work as a Network Engineer to pay the bills. I play guitar and sing to keep my sanity and to stay alive. So I guess I play guitar and sing for a living?

Cheers.

You're not alone, my friend... I have that job too. I've been in Information Tech for the past 18 years. I guess it's time to find another gig. After I finish hunting for the day, I practice my guitar. I've been playing for about 44 years now. Makes no sense to completely stop now. Besides, if I don't play everyday, my fingers get stiff.

Every once in a while, my brother and I perform together with our old friends. My brother is on the forum as bbrodie (the photographer). He's very good at creating images and playing guitar. I had lessons... he's self taught for the most part. He's more on the blues side and I'm on the power pop side but when we play together, we meet somewhere in the rock zone.

I play a Tele, he has a Strat. But, lately we've been using other models. Sometimes, people ask us why we don't have our own band. I couldn't tell you... I don't know. We do have other things going on in our lives. I was on the graveyard shift when I worked. So, that could be one reason.

I think I've been mistaking both of your post as only one poster! Thanks for clearing that up. Good luck job hunting.
