There was actually a thread on this topic a while back, but my situation has changed since then. I used to be a regional training manager for a pharmacy benefits company, but I left there in early June to take up my present position developing Russian and German curriculum for a US Air Force language training website. It's a lot less stressful, and it suits me very well. 8)

I do equipment repair on the side and for several shops. But thats not my regular gig just something I have been doing for many many years. I am layed off from my regular job. I am a licenced electrician but I do rigging work mainly. I am the guy you see at the top of the radio towers, bridge mast , bldg. roofs, heavy equipment setup anywhere , size or weight. The last dozen years or so have been spent doing this for a well known Lab on Military contracts around the world and numerious Nasa jobs. Transport and set up of satelites for launch.

Sucks don't it Bill? If I was getting more amp and guitar stuff I would not worry as much but still a big cut!

I am a nurse (LVN). I work in an Urgent Care Clinic (a mini Emergency Room). I have worked in a lot of different areas, but really love what I am doing now.

This may irk some people, but I play guitar for a living. :D

Last weekend I was recording in Delmark Records studio, the same studio room that Buddy Guy, Muddy Waters, and all kinds of cool people have recorded in. It was a pleasure and a privilege.

Mostly I do session work while "s-l-o-w-l-y" gathering the players I need for my own group. I also teach when I have to.

(yes I wake up each day glad and happy to be a musician. I don't know how you guys deal with the "real world." It's crazy out there.)

I envy you. I wanted to be a professional musician, but life dealt me different cards. Now it is a hobby for me, but I love it so much. To all you young people out there, if your relationship get too serious, RUN!
