Somertimes I like a little flash and dash. I like the Magical Mystery tour tie in 12B I can see that. You now how you hear people say thay don't like the Pink Pasley and the Blue Flower strats too. I would like to have a Blue Flower one.

Shot from the little book from the album, found one online so i didn't have to scan mine.

So tell me they aren't trying to shoplift that vibe. Be like if Fender put out a limited "The Fool" Tele.

I am sure that some people will like that. I am not a fan. I am sure that it plays well...as well as any SG. Call me wierd but I would rather shell out the bucks for a Fender American Standard than buy the Zoot. I just think it came out a couple decades too late.

Gibson has come out with about four guitars recently with the most horrendous color schemes I have ever scene. The Magical Mystery Tour analogy I think was on the money. I think this ax is being marketed toward the baby boomer crowd or as Mr Big sang - A Green Tinted 60s Mind

One would imagine that Gibson is probably quite aware that this guitar will only appeal to a limited demographic. One could also imagine that the timing of it's release roughly coinciding with the 40th anniversary of Woodstock, can't be an accident.

Given it's price tag, and it's design, I would imagine it is designed to pry some loose cash out of the hands of some aging former hippies.

Bit of harmless frivolity, not a terrible price. captures the spirit of their youth.
SG's are fine guitars, if this is like the ones i have played it's worth the bucks.

Not for me, but then I didn't appear til a couple years after woodstock. The EVH Frankenstein Fender model, based on a home built Kramer Carvin mishmash, shows their already trying to sell pieces of my youth back to me too. fender is even producing replicas of non Fender guitars, so this nod to george's MMT Strat is no biggie.

Some of the other colour schemes look OK. there's a few.

I actually kinda really like the 2nd one.

Yeah I like it more the more I see it. Plywood indeed!

CV was it you who posted the youtube vid of the guys building those expensive laminate bodies?

A real eye opener. Most people think laminated wood means someone went to Home Depot and grabbed some cheap particle board.

Yes and they were high rigs they were builing and used some exotic woods so they shown through at different points of the finish process. A lot of work and time.

That's why i remember the video. Really really nice work. Totally illustrates the difference between quality laminate work, and industrial plywood. i think these do too. At least the black and white. Very sexy.

That is, like, the ugliest Gibson I've ever seen. Although if we're counting Epiphones as Gibsons, this might take the proverbial cake: http://www.epiphone.com/news.asp?NewsID=1619

Zakk Wylde designed that, gotta wonder if the bloodclots he was recently hospitalized with were instant karma for that.

If the top one had some white strips in with the red - i 'd like it. You know - Red, white and Blue. That would be nice.

Now that bottom one is nice just like it is! I always liked Cappuccino with Espresso.

But one thing is wrong with both of them - Where's the other two knobs?
You know - an SG is supposed to have four knobs.
