I have first hand experience of how bad Fender quality (or lack thereof) has become...

some of you know I had an issue with a Pro Junior I recently purchased (speaking of poor quality) and had to be returned. Well, I just received a new one today...

Right out of the box, guess what I found?

IT'S MISSING A TUBE...A FREAKIN TUBE FOR CRYIN OUT LOUD! HOW DID THIS PASS INSPECTION AND GET PUT INTO A BOX!?

i checked the box, all inside the cabinet, nowhere. not even stuck to the speaker magnet. remember the amp is wrapped in plastic, so if a tube fell out, it wouldn't go far...that is if the tube IS EVEN THERE. i've been ripped of a freaking tube. FOR PETE'S SAKE GUYS

ALSO, i happened to notice that the front board the speaker is attached to has a nice CRACK in it. particle board confirmed...

now you all know why i've been harping about the atrocity of paying such high prices for these products, but getting nothing in return.

so yes, i do expect them to "give these things away for close to nothing", as someone once said to me here on the forum not too long ago. you get what you pay for, everyone says...well clearly not.

EDIT: forgot to mention that it's a preamp tube that is missing, which is even worse, testing-wise

I'm so sorry to hear that. No tube? That's just inexcusable. I have just one word. Egnater!

Man, that is just bizarre! Presumably quality control includes switching the amp on...???

you're tellin me. I just wrote a hefty letter to consumer relations, but I might have to try seeking out higher powers independently.

this is an all-time low for this company.

It shouldn't even happen on a Champion 600. It doesn't matter how much the amp cost.

Sorry to hear you have had so many issues with Fender products. I hope that this does not put you off Fender for good. I hope you get compensated for your inconvenience (at least a replacement tube for the one not in the amp).

No words can express how much this sucks! First prices go up and quality go's down. The Fender AS P-Bass i have is awesome plays and sounds like a dream but i think im through with Fender. If i were you i would demand a refund and buy something else. If it were me.

Question the company in which you bought the amp from did not send you a B-stock by any chance did they? I have seen where people have returned amps that they were not happy with and they are resold as B-stock. You hope they are checked out when returned but I would not doubt some go thru the cracks. I looked at a fender Hot Deluxe in a shop a couple weeks ago and someone had taken all the tubes out off the floor well someone may not have like that amp that you got and returned it but took the tube first. The store gets it back and puts it back in stock next guy gets an amp minus a tube.

What that is very odd for Fender to ship an amp with missing parts.

Hmmmm....are you certain that the amp in question was shipped directly from the Fender facility?? Was the packaging factory sealed or were there evidence of tampering, broken staples, packaging tape re applied, or the box has some tears caused by ripping the tape off from prior unpacking. Also, does the barcode or product code correspond to your amps. Serial number of amp match serial number printed on the box? Do you have all the paper work in the box? If all are in order, then you should call Fender directly and also inform the place you did business with. I'm suspecting that the amp was used before and was shipped to you. Not from Fender, but from a third party.

I've seen that many times unfortunately. I've also seen people removing fuses from amps and pilot lights. They do this also on Guitars. They would remove the knobs or the pickup selector tips.

I feel for you man as nothing is more of a drag than getting that adreneline rush of a new product only to have the wind knocked out of you with something like this. Now you get to deal with my favorite people Fenders CUSTOMER CARE SERVICE which is the worst on the planet. If you went over every post I have ever made on the web I have consistently blasted them have called Fender out on calling a meeting and addressing the fact that they are rated the worst in the world of guitar companies but no one seems to care so that is why they get away with it. As I have stated call up Peavey or MusicMan and you would hang up thinking you are the greatest player in the world. Go check out MusicMans forum Sterling Ball is a regular member and is in touch with his consumers and knows first hand what is going on. When Peavey opened there custom shop they gave away one custom Wolfgang for every year of the month and anyone in the world could enter as three winners were from the UK but Fender could not let a girl who almost got killed in a car accident buy a neck for her guitar that got damaged in the accident. CLASSY Then guys want to complain about Gibson being such cork sniffers well Fender is on even ground with them there these days. I would advise guys who own or like other brands to go check out there forums and websites like I do and you will be shocked at how they treat there consumers and how much gear they give away in contest. Here is another fact no other company comes close in the relic guitar buisness like Fender. They are by far the #1 producer of that whole rip of scheme that is aimed square at collectors ready to dole out 10k or more for something that is never even going to get plugged in. Almost every other company is looking to give you the highest quality looking ax with the best electronics out there so you can play your $@! off in comfort not a bucket of rusty and gouged pieces of $@!&.So as I have stated before I have enough teles and strats that the great LEO created 60 years ago and IMHO are the greatest axes ever made but Fender better wake up before its to late. It has happened to companies much bigger.

straycat, it's hard to believe your claims about Fender Customer Service. It has been my long experience that people get the level of customer service they are prepared for. Your posts make it clear that you are a poor communicator, and as such probably always have a hard time getting what you want from a CSR.

Also, you need to stop harping on the "girl who almost got killed in a car wreck" thing. Your entire screaming rant on that situation (comparing Fender to Peavey) was built on suppositions and guesses. The sitatuation was clear, and Fender had no obligation... you simply imagined or assumed that some other company would have responded in an different way, without any evidence to back that up. Nothing personal, but you might have noticed from my posting history that I HATE it when people base their "conclusions" on a pile of crap they make up in their own heads. I always call that behavior out when I see it.

Relicing isn't a "rip off scheme." It is simply giving customers what they want. If people didn't buy them, they wouldn't go the trouble, I can assure you.

Leo wasn't a saint. Get over it.

Also, I don't think "cork sniffer" means what you think it does.

So, you start out defaming Fender CS, and finally work yourself into a lather over relicing.

Let me ask you something... since the mention of the Fender name seems to send you into spasms of disgust... why are you here?
