I'm in the market for a tremolo pedal to finish up my pedal board, I've played a few, but nothing that stood out. I was wondering what you guys have to say. I've heard some great things about the MXR M159 Stereo Tremolo, and the Boss TR2 Tremolo. The MXR is a little pricey, but I've heard great things about it.

I was wondering if you guys had any comments or other pedals that you have or have played that you liked.

Thanks!

I have the Boss TR-2. Great pedal......it's in my chain, and I use it all the time. You should go to a store and try one for yourself.

I have a Fuchs Plush Creme de la Trem which I love... it's billed as a "Brownface-style" pedal, and I'd have to say it fulfills that promise. More swampy throb to Leslie-ish warble, no helicopter chopping. I leave it on much more than I thought I would, as it adds a really nice dimension to clean playing. I wanted something that would sound as much as possible like an old amp tremolo for my Swart Space Tone ( <--like a fancy Champ, basically)

I have a Jim Dunlop TS-1 (the pedal the MXR is based on) on the way, because I decided that I'd like to be able to produce a hard chop sometimes. In stereo! It was a serendipitous eBay find. It's bulkier than the MXR, but I like the fact that it's 9V rather than 18V, and apart from the form factor it seems that Jim Dunlop (who own MXR) really couldn't -- or didn't need to -- improve on the old design. I never would have thought I'd turn out to be the kind of guy who would be trying to justify ownership of more than one tremolo pedal... heh.
