I was looking at the Vox AC15CC1 and CC1X. I noticed that the only difference is that the CC1X has an AlNiCo Blue speaker. I've also noticed that the price difference (retail) is $350.

Out of curiosity, why is this so? I don't think the different speaker is really worth that much. I could just buy the CC1, mod it with a different speaker, and still come up with more money for myself.

Go to Best Buy and get an AD30VT for $125 or splurge for the 50W if you have the flow. Those VOX amps are way overpriced at the music stores. The 50W is better because you can use the expression pedal instead of the button pedal. Of course the expression pedal is another $250+ so plan carefully.

Also I don't think this is the correct forum to ask about Vox amps. You might try their web site for technical questions. There are a couple of people that have them but they are usually the vintage tube ones.

How can you compair a Ad15VT to a AC15CC1X/ NIght and day I say that having a AD30 and a AC30 both nice but again night and day!!!! Now for the OP you will find that the Celestion Blue used in the CC1X is a 300. dollar speaker alone. The GSH12 Wharfdale is not a bad speaker itself but I dont think thet have that kind of cost to them.

Yup, may I suggest a Weber Alnico blue dog? $195 vs $300 for the celestion, it would give you that alnico blue sound without making your wallet cry.

If you can, go and play both of them. Then let your ears decide whether or not that speaker is worth the extra money. Who knows, you might find the cheaper one actually sounds better for you.
