err, I was doing that when I was 10, lol. :D I played Trilogy Suite Opus for my talent show. I hate looking at pics of me as a kid, the guitars almost as big as I am.

Hope the little guy sticks with it, it's a pretty rewarding life if you're willing to forsake pretty much everything and all semblance of normalcy in pursuit of being a musician.

The starving periods suck, ...... but the girls more then make up for it. :D

Hey.....that's where it all begins. Even younger. How about that kid who was touring with his dad, and appeared on stage with Buddy Guy. :!: :?:

Look at it this way....you can always start out studying astrophysics, play guitar on the side and then take some time off to do a stint with that rock band which you and your mates have named "Queen". After you've shot your load, you go back and finish your Ph.D. 8)

I chose 'Queen' intentionally, in that a British colleague of mine knew someone back then who was part of that original band, but listened to his mommy and at her 'urging' left them to pursue his college degree. You know how mommies can 'urge' Had one like that mi'self.

Even better....Google" a band called "Agentz"...they were an aspiring '80's 'hair' band. You can find a sampling of their CD which was just re-introduced by one of their members. Listen to their guitarist, Jason
Sabo. His dad was a high school mate of mine, one of our 'guitar crowd' in those days, and we still, in our late 60's now, are in contact.

When Jason was in in late 'teens, Roger would shepherd him around to gigs and wait for him because the club scene wasnt' something Jason was ready for, and some of the guys in the band were older. Jason ultimately packed it all in, cut his hair, became an attorney, hasn't touched an 'axe' in years, and has no interest. Even signed away any interest in the reissuance of that CD. Different strokes.

So much for the road not taken. 8)

Roger was a single parent having gained custody of his children after a divorce. Jason turned out quite right. His dad had a lot to do with that.
