It's no Howlin Wolf but if it wasn't for Iz I would have never have discovered Howlin, Stones, Muddy, Faces, Georgia Satellites, Dick Dale etc, etc. He's the reason I ever picked up a guitar. Thank god I went with him (when I was a kid, GN'R members were like cartoon characters or super heroes...everyone had a favourite!)

Check out Ju Ju Hounds or his acoustic album Fire.

Slash 'was' like a super hero when I was a kid, hadn't thought of it that way.
He's why I started drinking Jack and smoking Marlboro reds when I was like 12-13, lol. Wanted to be cool like Slash.

Course now I've been smoking 20 years and feel like an idiot for every having started. *facepalm*

Interesting to see Izzy's still keeping busy. He was pretty underrated.

Big time man, 10 solo albums with guys like Ian 'Mac' McLagan and Ron Wood and Rick Richards to name a few plus he's the only member of Guns to have appeared with New GN'R AND Velvet Revolver and even gets a mention in sleeves of both Chinese Democracy and Contraband.

The guy is mint! Plus he was Guns main song writer. He even predicted 14 Years of SILENCE!

Now thats how to do it. Really nice to read the responces and see how much he is appreciated. I remember seeing the Use your Illusion tour twice within a month. The first time was at Nassau collisium before the albums were even out but Izzy was in the band and added to a great show because he sang about four numbers he had written which were very strong tracks off those albums. The second time they were still great but there was no Izzy and you felt his absence in a big way. I know he did not care for touring. When that band was at the top of there game they were as good as anyone I ever saw, and if they could of kept it together the sky was the limit. It still burns my $@! that both times it took them over three hours to take the stage. But they were so great they made you forget the wait.
