My system was infected and crashed a couple of weeks ago. I'm 75% sure that I picked up something from this site as I'm on here at least 75% of the time I spend on the net. Cost me over $300 to retrieve information and repair my machine! So, like BigJay says. be very careful with links on this(and other) site.

Norton????? I didnt think anyone used that anymore, let alone someone in the know. It must have its uses.

Fhop i spent £30 on a 250g extrernal memory. My laptop overheats like crazy (its going back soon) and consequently crashes regularly. All my music, tabs and goverment secrets are safely duplicated now.

I had mine upgraded too Niki when it was repaired, I solved the overheating problem with the purchase of a $15 thin fan base that constantly has 2 fans blowing air under the laptop. Combined with the on board fan it does the trick!
I'm backing up regular everyday now but I'm thinking of joining an online automatic backup service. Carbonite.

No, it's true. We dumped Norton years ago. We're currently using something called Avast, on the recommendation of an IT guy. Apparently it uses less memory or something. Seems to have worked fine since installation...

I just had Avast installed on my machine Ceri! It's supposed to be very good!

I have no idea, really. We used it to replace McAfee. Avast does indeed seem to slow the computer down a bit less - and it's free!

No doubt we'll all be onto something else by this time next year...

It speeded my computer up for sure. It is free for the first year I think. Then you pay by the year. I had McAfee too and it did not stop me from getting infected.

Gotta tell you lads, i choose the cheapies.
AVG free, superantispyware, malwarebytes and finaly the best prgram ever though not a security program, piriform Ccleaner.

I havent paid for security in years.
